What makes a Puratap stronger than the majority of other units on the market?
Because we want our customers to have the strongest possible product, Puratap has invested millions of dollars in research and development, to create plumbers parts, well above the industry standard. As matter of fact, Puratap is the only company in Australia to have Australian standards approval to fit our units without a pressure limiting valve and that's because the unit is far stronger than competitors units. At Puratap, we are so confident in the durability of our design and components, Puratap offers a superior product and warranty for the same price of other water filters of lesser quality. So why pay the same for less?
A Puratap unit is made from an engineering grade polyactel plastic, which is much stronger and more reliable than other units; most of our competitors’ units are made from much softer polypropylene plastic which gets weaker as it ages. Every time you turn on the tap from one of these units, the plastic stretches a little, meaning that eventually, the filters wont fit snuggly into the unit effectively and unfiltered water can bypass the filters, through the gaps.
Puratap tubing is much thicker and along with our Jaco fitting, can withstand a much higher operating pressure and Puratap ball valve fitting which is resistant to corrosion, along with its upgraded connector, make a pair with superior strength and reliability.
So weigh it up …. buy a competitor’s filter and you’ll need to get a new unit every 3-5 years… or for the same price, get a Puratap one with a 10 year guarantee? The truth is, there’s really no competition.
What warranty will I get on a new Puratap?
When you buy a brand new Puratap unit you can rest easy. You already know you are getting an amazing quality unit with the best parts and to back this up, it comes with a great warranty. The Puratap unit (sumps and head) come with a 10 year warranty. The remaining parts (tubing, ball valve, tap, jacos) have a 3 year warranty. This warranty is dependent on proper use and maintenance of the unit. By booking your annual filter change with Puratap we can fix any problems before they arise and that's how you maintain the warranty on the unit!
Where are Purataps made?
Puratap is a proudly South Australian company! The unit was designed and is manufactured right here in Adelaide. We manufacture and sell the unit so there is no 'middleman' to push up the price.
Does Puratap recycle or reuse the old filters?
Puratap is a green company! Puratap takes pride in producing the highest quality ‘green’ product with filters that can be recycled. It’s our way of helping save the environment while saving our customers money!
Purataps pre-sediment filter catches the dirt and other undissolved particles in your water. It is made of tightly packed spun polypropylene which means it can't be washed out like a normal pool or house filter. This polypropylene however, can be recycled to make other plastic items. Carbon is a naturally occurring substance in the earth, so it’s actually beneficial if the carbon block filter can be crushed and put back into landfill. This way it will continue to absorb chemicals, household pesticides and insecticides, that will stop them leaching into ground water.
Proudly, Puratap filters are designed for this….unlike other filters where the carbon is not helpful because its locked in the polypropylene housing.
Puratap end caps also get reused for a purer environment. Made from very high quality plastic, unlike industry standard filters, where caps are left on the filter and go straight into landfill, at Puratap we take the time to remove ours from the filter and recycle them on brand new filters.
