Innovator versus Imitator

The Puratap GI-2600 water filters award winning design and manufacture from engineering grade Polyacetal plastic enables it to withstand pressures up to 191 PSI without any signs of weakness.

An industry standard water filter is only able to withstand operating pressures of 30-70 PSI as it is made from a softer plastic called Polypropylene.

ball valve C.JPG
The Puratap brass balve valve is worth 7 times the price of its plastic competitor, but it comes with the Puratap GI-2600 water filter at no additional cost to you!  It's strength and durability stems from its production from high quality brass.

An industry standard plastic ball valve becomes weaker as it ages and the risk of leaking is greatly increased as the plastic spindle can break.

The wall of Puratap genuine tubing is 2mm thick.  This means that it is much more able to withstand mains water pressure for long periods and is much more resistant to breakage and weakness.  The wall of this tubing is only approximately 1mm in width.  This means that it is not as strong as Purataps tubing and will not be able to withstand water pressure as efficiently.

Puratap filters have unique end caps.  One end is completely sealed and the other end takes advantage of Purataps patent pending 'anti-bypass' technology.  This involves a screw in, double o'ring seal which eliminates any possibility of water bypassing the filter, no matter how old the unit. Other filters have two open end caps and rely on a length dependent seal.  Teeth inside the unit must hold the filter perfectly in place for efficient filtration and any creep that has occurred in the polypropylene will prevent this 'perfect fit' from occurring.
